Consul General Zheng Xiyuan Meets with CFCCA Director


On August 28th 2019, Consul General Zheng Xiyuan and his wife Consul Li Fanghui met with Zoe Dunbar, Director of Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) at their residence. Consul Lyu Xiaomei accompanied them.

Ms. Dunbar briefed Consul General Zheng on the Centre's origins,development history and cooperation with China. She said that during its 34 yeas of existence, the institution has always been devoted to demonstrating the charm of Chinese culture to the British audience by supporting Chinese modern and contemporary artists as well as young artists. It endeavours to exploit the positive effects of cultural ties for Manchester's cooperation with China and hopes to promote Sino-British economic and trade cooperation and people-to-people exchange through a full display of China's soft cultural power.   

Consul General Zheng congratulated CFCCA on its accomplishments in promoting mutual understanding between people in the UK and China as a UK based art centre for showcasing Chinese culture and thanked the Centre for continuously making active efforts in enhancing Sino-British friendship. He said that he would connect the Centre with more Chinese cultural institutions and Chinese enterprises for exchanges and cooperation and encourage local Chinese community to actively participate in and support the Centre's exchange activities with China.
