On July 17th 2020, Mr. Zheng Xiyuan, Chinese Consul General in Manchester, accompanied by Consul Ms. Lyu Xiaomei, attended the LCP 2020 CHINESE NEW YEAR GATHERING.

Consul General Zheng extended his New Year greetings to all members of LCP and warmly congratulated the association on their remarkable achievements in 2019. He praised the association for advancing cooperation between Liverpool and China in the past five years since its establishment. He commented that the year 2019 marked the 20th anniversary of the friendship between Liverpool and China. LCP members expanded their business with China and signed great-sum contracts by participating actively in events like the China International Import Fair. Looking ahead into the new decade, he hoped that with the support and guidance of the Liverpool city council, LCP will continue to grow and expand its cooperation with China.

Representatives of Huawei and Hainan Airlines UK were specially invited by Consul General Zheng to present their companies by way of encouraging Chinese and British companies to learn from each other and work together to realise mutually beneficial cooperation in both markets.

The event was also attended by the deputy mayor of Liverpool, president of LCP, and 21 LCP members.
