On February 10, the Consulate General in Manchester and Manchester City FC jointly organized Chinese New Year celebrations during the Premier League match between Manchester City and Everton, to which Consul General Tang Rui was invited.

The Etihad Stadium, which can accommodate more than 50,000 spectators, was at full capacity with Chinese New Year elements and a festive atmosphere inside and outside the stadium. Before the match, the celebrations kicked off with a lion dance performance, with City players stepping onto the pitch in the Year of the Loong uniforms to convey their New Year wishes to the Chinese public. During the interval, the celebrations reached the climax by a 10-minute Dragon Dance, and the club prepared Chinese snacks for the audience to feel the Chinese New Year atmosphere and share the happiness together.

As an important part of the Chinese New Year celebrations, this event aims to introduce the Chinese New Year culture to the people in our Consular District and encourage people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
