|Consul General Zheng Xiyuan Meets with the Lord Mayor of York|
On Sept. 18, 2018, Mr. Zheng Xiyuan, Consul General of the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Manchester, met at his residence Mr. Keith Orrell, the Lord Mayor of York, and his wife, the Lady Mayoress, Mrs. Judith Orrell. Also present at the meeting were Consul Lyu Xiaomei, Consul Liu Min, York City Councillor Mr. Ashley Mason, Zhuang Wei and Zhuang Yaqing, overseas Chinese representatives in York.
Mr. Zheng expressed his appreciation of the cooperation platform built under the joint efforts of the York city government and overseas Chinese representatives based in York. He outlined the historical origin of the concept of China's peaceful development and China's economic development trend. He also expounded the four concepts of One Belt One Road Initiative, i.e. peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit. He pledged that the Consulate-General will further support the exchange and cooperation between York and China's related provinces and cities.
