|Premier Wen Jiabao Concludes Official Visit to ROK|
On the afternoon of April 11, 2007, visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao wrapped up his official visit to the Republic of Korea (ROK) and left by special plane for an official visit to Japan.
At the invitation of ROK President Roh Moo-hyun, Premier Wen arrived in the ROK on April 10 for an official visit to the country. During his visit, Wen held talks with ROK President Roh Moo-hyun. He also met with ROK Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, National Assembly Speaker Lim Chae-jung and major party leaders, exchanging views on strengthening cooperation on bilateral and regional issues.
During his talks with Roh, Wen put forward a five-point proposal on bilateral ties, namely maintaining high-level exchanges, deepening trade cooperation, promoting cultural contacts, strengthening consultations and coordination on international and regional affairs, and properly handing each other's concerns. Wen and Roh also attended a signing ceremony of four cooperation agreements on youth exchanges, labor export, protection of migrant birds and marine search and rescue.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and the ROK, as well as the China-ROK Exchange Year. During his stay in ROK, Wen attended the opening ceremony of the China-ROK Exchange Year and a gala of the youth of the two countries. He also met with heads of ROK friendship organizations and main representatives of Chinese and ROK business circles, and addressed a luncheon with entrepreneurs of both countries.
