Mr. Gong Jianzhong arrived in Manchester on 20 September, 2004, and has now assumed his duties as the Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Manchester.

 

Mr. Gong once took posts at the Chinese Embassies in Iceland and the UK, the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. He was a deputy director general of the Information Department of the Foreign Ministry before his appointment to the post of Consul General in Manchester.

 

Mr. Gong is married with one daughter.
