Q: People were killed and injured in a violent attack in Stockholm, Sweden on April 7. What is China's comment on that?

A: The Chinese side strongly condemns the violent attack in Stockholm, Sweden yesterday. Our thoughts are with the victims, and we express our sincere sympathy to the injured and the bereaved families. President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Keqiang and Foreign Minister Wang Yi have respectively sent messages of condolences to the Swedish side. We will stand together with the Swedish side to safeguard stability and security of the two countries and the world at large.

The Chinese Embassy in Sweden has activated the emergency response mechanism immediately after the attack, and issued a safety alert. We have not received any report of death or injuries of Chinese citizens. We will follow closely the developments and properly deal with follow-up matters.
