A: The two sides exchanged views on the Korean Peninsula issue during the telephone conversation. Yang Jiechi stated China's principled position and stressed that China stays committed to realizing the denuclearization of the Peninsula, upholding the peace and stability on the Peninsula and resolving the issue through dialogue and negotiation. We hope various parties will give serious consideration to the dual-track approach proposed by China, make efforts to maintain and preserve the positive momentum in resolving the Peninsula issue and address all parties'legitimate security concern in a balanced manner in the process of advancing denuclearization, with a view to achieving the lasting peace and stability of the Peninsula and this region.
